How to Impress Customers and Get Five-Star Ratings

Want to turn every clean into a five-star review? This page will guide you through proven strategies to impress your customers and build lasting relationships.

Pay extra attention to details

These small extras can make a big difference for customers. They also act as visual cues that the space has been professionally cleaned and ready for them to use. These include:

  • Straightening and tightening corners when making beds.
  • Fluffing the pillows and folding the blankets neatly.
  • Wiping down bottles and arranging them nicely in the shower.
  • Folding the ends of paper towels and bathroom tissues.
  • Straightening picture frames after dusting them.
  • Spacing out chairs evenly around a dining table.
  • Lining up shoes in a straight line.
  • Straightening stacks of paperwork.
  • Fanning magazines on the coffee table.
  • Arranging remotes and other items on the table neatly.
  • Folding towels nicely or hanging them up in appropriate places.

Make sure shiny things are shiny

Dedicate extra time to clean and polish glass windows, mirrors, chrome fixtures, and other reflective surfaces. These areas are notorious for easily spotting streaks, smudges, and other signs that may lead customers to be disappointed with their cleaning. When these things are streak-free and spotless, they even reflect light, which really shows how clean the home is.

Avoid carpet striping

Do not make carpet lines or striping. To prevent this from happening, we highly recommend the following:

  • Do four passes in one area (one pass refers to going through an area with your vacuum cleaner, either with a forward or backward motion).
  • When you’re vacuuming backwards, do it slower to allow maximum extraction of dust and debris.
  • When cleaning a large room, vacuum the entire area thoroughly, moving back and forth in a straight line, then going over the area again in the opposite direction.
